4 WAYS TO GET RID OF HITCH BALL SQUEAK

If you’ve ever heard it, the shrill squealing and grinding is enough to send any trailer owner racing to the back of their vehicle in fear that the world is about to end! The squealing often happens when traveling over dusty and uneven ground. Keeping the ball in good shape and regularly lubricated is the best way to silence the squeak and keep the ball and coupler from an early demise! Here we have some simple solutions for you:
Reese Hitch Ball Lube 69-9687 $35.30 - One of the best products to use for hitch balls is a product made especially for them! The REESE Hitch Ball Lubricant is designed to be the perfect, single dose of lubricant for the hitch ball. It reduces trailer coupler and hitch ball wear and friction; extending the life and appearance of both. The lube is made of petroleum making it a long-lasting option.
Valvoline General Purpose Grease 72-4507 $14.95 - This excellent general purpose Extreme Pressure Grease is designed for both automotive and industrial uses but can also be used for hitch balls. It is water-resistant and lubricates at temperatures ranging from -10F to 400F. If you want a product that pulls double or triple duty, pick up a container of Valvoline General Purpose Grease.
Trailer Hitch Ball Cover $13.00 and up - Prevent corrosion from the elements by protecting your hitch ball when it is not in use. Hitch ball covers come in a variety of shapes and materials, primarily rubber. Some are in the shape of animals, hobbies, or sports teams, so they can also be a fun way to decorate your trailer.
Soap/Wax & Tennis Balls - If you are in a pinch, applying dish soap, candle wax, or pieces of wax paper between the ball and the coupler can help. Replace after every trip. You can also protect your hitch ball from the elements by cutting a slit in a tennis ball and placing it over the ball when not in use.
